In fact – there was only one entrant and this consortium is VERY powerful – there is a speculation that no other companies bothered to compete against.

The consortium, named 2020 Harumi Smart City Group is comprised from:

Mitsui Fudosan Residential (principle company)

NTT Urban Development

Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate

Sumitomo Corporation

Sumitomo Realty & Development

Daiwa House Industry

Tokyu Land

Tokyo Tatemono

Nomura Real Estate Development

Mitsui Corporation

Mitsui Fudosan

Mitsubishi Estate

Mitsubishi Jisho Residence

Meetings are to be held throughout this year to materialize the development plan and a contractor/developer for the project will be chosen during the Japanese fiscal year of 2015. (April 2015-March 2016) Regardless to say, it is likely that one of the companies (or joint ventures) is given a mandate to the development.
